What a Process Server Does
Process servers are commonly used to serve legal documents and provide proof of service when required. A process server’s role is to deliver legal documents to a defendant or person involved in a court case. After documents are served, a process server provides verification (often called an affidavit of service or proof of service), which may need to be notarized depending on the requirements of the requesting party.
Typical Requests
- Serving legal documents (service of process)
- Court filings or document delivery (when requested)
- Retrieving documents (when requested)
